A Cake and a Hanging

November 15, 2010 - What a fun day in Sheridan and Cody! Today we were all reminded of how creative, generous and welcoming the people of Wyoming are.

In Sheridan we had a first - the first and only U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree cake! The owners of Kassi Catering in Sheridan decided to mark this historic occasion by making a cake replica of Wyoming's Perfect Tree - complete with rice krispy treat ornaments and a fondant bucking bronc!

Check out this video of Buck with Kassi Catering explaining why he decided to make the cake.

After Sheridan, Team Tree didn't think it could get any better than a giant (and delicious!) Tree cake. Alas, we were wrong. Per tradition, the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce welcomed the team to their community and proclaimed that "we'll personally hang any varmint that stands in the way of your success!"

Look out, there's no stopping the Tree now!

Wyoming hospitality has been non-stop since we hit the road. Our wonderful gas stations and hotels have gone out of their way to make us feel right at home and provided delicious treats all along the way! Thanks to the Maverik in Cody and Buffalo, as well as the Comfort Inn in Buffalo, for making us feel so welcomed!

Team Tree fuels up at the Maverik in Cody.

Can't wait to see what Wyoming has in store for us tomorrow!
